Mavericks Try To Get Out Of Gutter With Kaman, Collison And Jones

One of the most important things in the world to Your Old Pal New York Vinnie is loyalty; it is the code of the streets in the “Greatest City To Ever Exist On The Planet, New York City,” that you take care of Your BOYS. You watch my back and New York Vinnie will watch yours; when one of New York Vinnie’s BOYS have success, I throw the best “FRICKIN SHINDIG” they have ever seen! If they are all bummed out because some DOLL broke their heart, New York Vinnie is sitting right next to him handing “FRICKIN” Kleenex; if you catch New York Vinnie’s drift.

New York Vinnie’s Main Man Robbo loves the Dallas Mavericks as much as New York Vinnie lives and dies with “MY BOYS” the Knicks. New York Vinnie remembers how “FRICKIN PUMPED” he was after Dallas won their first title in the Finals in 2011 and knows how “FRICKIN LIVID” he must have been when Cubes and Nellie Junior (Dallas owner Mark Cuban and general manager Donnie Nelson) allowed J.J. Barea, Caron Butler and Tyson Chandler before last season started. He must have wanted to torch the American Airlines Center when the news was announced that Deron Williams was sticking with the Nets.

Although the Mavericks looked like they would be sure-bet for the NBA draft lottery on Tuesday; Nellie Junior finally started to restock the roster on Wednesday with some pretty “FRICKIN” decent players. The “Star-Telegram” published a report that Dallas signed free agent center Chris Kaman to a contract and then sent back-up center Ian Mahinmi in a sign-and-trade with the Pacers for point Darren Collison and swingman Dahntay Jones.

The move helps to improve the roster which looked like Old Mother Hubbard’s “FRICKIN” cupboard before the new additions were brought in. Kaman had a “FRICKIN LOUSY” season with the Hornets this year but he was an All-Star just a couple of years ago and head-and-shoulders above Brendan Haywood. He went to the Hornets last year in the deal that put Chris Paul in a Clips uniform but he never really fit in there. Still Kaman should give Dirk and Shawn Marion a good running partner up front next season.

The New Orleans Hornets most likely kick themselves that they traded Collison to the Pacers after a good rookie year as he could be their starter now that Paul has flown the coop. He was the starter for the Pacers at the point but lost the job to George Hill who Indiana just re-signed to a long-term extension. Jones does not have great career numbers but he is a “FRICKIN CLUTCH” player and will help the Mavericks off the bench, or possibly be the starter at the two-guard position.

The report also said that Dallas was going to use the amnesty to release Haywood which is a killer move. We used to have a saying for guys like Haywood; that they look like Tarzan but play like “FRICKIN Jane” if you catch New York Vinnie’s drift. Although My Man Haywood is athletic he has never come close to being a good starting center in the NBA. There have also been reports that the Mavericks are close to signing Elton Brand who was released by the Sixers as they used their amnesty on him. Since he is already getting big bucks from the buyout he could probably be had for the vets minimum.

Now New York Vinnie is not going to say that this team is going to compete to get to the Finals but they now have some decent players to go along with Nowitzki and Marion. They look like a lot more of a threat to make the playoffs then they did on Tuesday.
