New York Knicks All-Star forward Amar’e Stoudemire apparently allowed his frustrations and anger to consume his so greatly after his team lost their second straight Playoff contest to the Miami Heat 104-94 on Monday night, that he may have ended his season shortly after the game ended. The “New York Post” has reported that Stoudemire is said to have suffered major lacerations to his left hand, after he allegedly punched through the glass of the cabinet a fire extinguisher is stored in. Paramedics reportedly rushed to the visitors locker room at American Airlines Arena to treat the veteran and stitches were reportedly required.
A spokesperson for the Knicks confirmed that the veteran did cut his hand after the game, but declined to say how it occurred. New York head coach Mike Woodson declined to talk to reporters about the incident in his post game press conference. There has been no word as to whether Stoudemire will miss time due to the injury and if so; will the injury end his season. Game three of the series will be held in New York on Thursday.
