It’s going to be a Holly Jolly Christmas for NBA fans later this month as the NBA will tip-off the 2011-2012 regular season with five games on Christmas Day. There were already three games on the docket; however “ESPN.com” reported Friday that the Association will add another two contests which should fill-up even the most ravenous NBA fans. The day will also be filled with some of the greatest stars the Association has to offer.
The day will start off with the Boston Celtics traveling to MSG to take on the New York Knicks in a re-match of their first round series of last spring’s playoffs. Boston won that series in a sweep, however the Knicks will be dangerous with Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire and Chauncey Billups in the starting rotation. Another re-match will take place in the second contest as the Miami Heat will watch their opponents in the NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks receive their Championship rings in front of their home crowd. Game number three will feature the Chicago Bulls heading to the Staples Center to play the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder will play host to the best center in the Association as Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic come to town. Finally the Bay Area will see if rookie head coach Mark Jackson can turn around the fortunes of the Golden State Warriors who will welcome NBA Rookie Of The Year Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers to the Oracle Arena.
