NBA Team Owners Propose Adding A Third Round To NBA Draft

Does NBA Commissioner David Stern and NBA Team Owners want to expand the NBA Draft to three rounds? According to a report from “SheridanHoops” Team Owners want to go back to having the draft a three round affair, for the first time since they switched to the present format after the 1988 NBA Draft took place.

According to the report the NBA Players Association would like to keep the present format in place, but have countered with proposals to tweak the draft so that weaker teams would benefit. The two sides are expected to resume negotiations on Thursday in their attempt to end the work-stoppage and ratify a new NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement. There have been reports that if the two sides have not worked out a deal by September 15, training camp and preseason games could be in jeopardy.
