Although many players from throughout the Association will take advantage of opportunities across the planet if the NBA Lockout continues into the regular season, that will not be an option for Free Agent guard Delonte West. Boston sports-talk radio station “WEEI” has reported that the veteran who played for the Boston Celtics this past season, will not be allowed to travel as a result of his being on probation. The guard is serving two years of unsupervised probation after being arrested on weapons charges a few years back.
West revealed his status on Twitter Thursday afternoon. The tweet read “Can’t even go get that over seas money.. Judge said it’s a no go on leaving the country…”
West is an unrestricted Free Agent, and his agent reportedly has stated that his client would truly like to re-sign with the Celtics on the other side of the Lockout. The veteran completed his seventh season in the Association after the Celtics were knocked out of the Playoffs by the Miami Heat. He was drafted by Boston late in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft.
