Boozer-Cruise May Sail To Distant Shores, Bulls All-Star Forward Says He Will Play Overseas

Carlos Boozer, along with Derrick Rose and Luol Deng helped the Chicago Bulls grab the best record in the Association during this past regular season, could help a foreign team improve in the upcoming campaign if the NBA Lockout is not settled. The All-Star forward who also was a member of Team USA back in 2008, told “ESPN The Magazine” he would have no problems picking up and playing outside of the USA, if the NBA season does not start on time.

Boozer is with his third team in the Association, having been drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with a second round NBA Draft pick in 2002. He then signed a Free Agent deal with the Utah Jazz before inking a deal with the Bulls last summer. He told the magazine “I think as players we have to look at this lockout as an unfortunate challenge, but one that can create other unique and positive opportunities. When I was part of Team USA that won Olympic Gold in Beijing, that experience changed my life in incredible ways. If the NBA season gets delayed or postponed, I plan on using those months to experience something similar to what I did in the summer of 2008. That’s why, if the lockout continues, I definitely plan on playing overseas.”

The forward who has played in the Association for the past nine years, was hampered by injuries last season but still helped Chicago to the best regular season record in the NBA this past campaign. They were eliminated in the Playoffs by the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
