Heat Burn Celtics 102-91, Take 2-0 Series Lead

LeBron James scored a game high 35 points while Dwyane Wade added 28 more as the Miami Heat took a commanding 2-0 lead over the Boston Celtics Tuesday night in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals winning the contest 102-91. Miami took over the game in the fourth quarter breaking an 80-80 tie with a 12-0 run and Boston never came close to regrouping. Rajon Rondo recorded a double-double with 20 points to lead the Celtics while Kevin Garnett chipped in 16 points. Boston now finds themselves heading back to their own arena with their backs against the wall after dropping the first two games of the match-up.

James would knock down two buckets within four seconds down the stretch in the first and the Heat would be on top 27-26 at the end of the quarter. Miami would increase their lead in the second as the Celtics offense was stuck in neutral. Wade buried a 25 foot trey with three seconds remaining putting his team ahead 47-42 as the contest reached the half.

Garnett would knock down a mid-range jumper with 4:20 on the clock in the third putting Boston in the lead at 62-61. However the advantage would be fleeting as the Heat soon went back on top and would hold the upper hand at the end of the period with the score 72-67. Boston would make one more run in the contest knotting up the score at 80-80 as Paul Pierce hit a pair at the line with 7:09 left to play. But Miami would score the next 12 straight points and the Celtics never were able to make another challenge.

James put up 35 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a block and a steal. Wade scored 28 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal while Chris Bosh had a double-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.

Rondo knocked down 20 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds and 1 steal in the Celtics loss. Garnett had 16 points, 6 rebounds, a block and a steal while Pierce added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist. Jeff Green came off the bench with 11 points while Delonte West chipped in 10 more. The series shifts to Boston and a must win situation for the Celtics in game three which will be played on Saturday.
