The NBA has named Chicago Bulls rookie head coach Tom Thibodeau as the winner of the NBA Coach Of The Year after taking his team to the top of the Association during the regular season. Thibodeau helped the Bulls attain an NBA best record of 62-20 overtaking the San Antonio Spurs on the final day of play. The rookie bench boss took a team that barely made the Post Season last year and helped mold them into the number one seed in the NBA Playoffs.
Thibodeau received 475 points and 76 first place votes from the members of the media who voted for the honor. He would get more than twice the amount of points as second place finisher Doug Collins who recently completed his first year as the Philadelphia 76ers coach. Collins would received 210 points while San Antonio Spurs bench boss Gregg Popovich came in third.
